Things to do in Taipei, Taiwan: Flower market
Join the crowds strolling through Taipei's Flower Market on Sundays. It's good for people watching even if you're not buying, and in summer all that vegetation keeps temperatures surprisingly pleasant in the shaded market.
The flower market doesn't just sell flowers. You'll also find herbs, seeds, painted flower pots, furniture, weird garden statues, and crazy tabletop zen gardens with fog generators, waterwheels and winking lights.
The market is built under the elevated freeway on the section of Jian Guo South Road between Xinyi and Renai Roads. It's within 20 minutes walking distance of Zhongxiao Fuxing and DaAn Metro stations. At it's northern end, the flower market meets the Jade Market, so see them both in the same visit.
The market opens by mid morning and closes around 5 to 6pm. It's only open on Saturdays and Sundays.
